A bag of nerves,

The 'Head of Discipline' appears,

They're plotting to label me paranoid,

Sans knighthood, dukedom,
Mighty empire,
Or even manor house.
Not Mister, nor Missus,

The wind and wild hounds of hell
Howl in unison
Over a desolate landscape.
Only a handful of us

Life-Death Forgotten, Never Was;
Time, matter whirling, empty space.
Love, merely hunger, drives us on;
Self, ever lonely, rots apace.

On sunny sand I rest my head
Beside the clear blue sea,
Which swells and heaves,
Yet gently laps a song,
