Cataclysm Poem by Philip Caldwell

Cataclysm

Vacancy has taken presence,
upon our earth,
I am the only one left...
Desolation has become
a friend to the last progeny.
All the rest taken away,
washed away,
by the tides of destiny.
But I'm still here?
Not worthy enough for Heaven,
not damned enough for Hell.
What malevolence haunts me,
so that I must lose my family.
Allotted a barren plateau,
listening
to the annoying silence.
Bearing witness
to the last poem
of the broken poet's pen.
