കവിത
ആ കാലഘട്ടത്തിൽ, എന്നെയും തേടി
കവിതയാം പെണ്ണുവന്നെത്തി.
ഞാനറിഞ്ഞില്ല, എങ്ങുനിന്നറിഞ്ഞീല.
മഞ്ഞുകാലത്തിൽനിന്നോ,
പുഴതൻ ഹൃത്തിൽ നിന്നോ.
ഞാനറിഞ്ഞില്ല, എപ്പോഴെന്നറിഞ്ഞീല.
സ്വനമല്ലവൾ, വാചാലമാം വാക്കല്ല,
മൌനത്തിൻ മൂകമുഖമല്ലവൾ,
ഒരു വിളി,
ഏതോ തെരുവിൽനിന്നും,
കറുത്തരാവിൻ പടരും കൈവഴികളിൽ നിന്നും,
പിന്നെ ദ്രുതമായ് മറ്റുപലതിൽ നിന്നും വന്നു.
എരിയും തീകൾക്കിടയിൽ,
ഒരേകാന്തമാം മടക്കത്തിൽ,
നിര്‍മ്മുഖം നിന്നു ഞാനപ്പോൾ,
അവളൊരു സ്പർശം മാത്രം.
ഒന്നും വിളിക്കാനറിയാതെ,
പേരുകൾക്കിടയിലെൻ നാവുഴറുമ്പോൾ,
കണ്ണിലിരുൾനിറയുമ്പോൾ,
ഉള്ളിന്നുള്ളിലെന്തോ ചലിച്ചു,
ഒരു പനിതൻ വിറയലോ?
മറന്ന പഴയതാമേതോ ചിറകോ?
അതിനെ അറിയാൻ കിണഞ്ഞു ശ്രമിക്കെ
അറിയാതാദ്യത്തേതാം വരി ഞാനെഴുതിപ്പോയി.
അവ്യക്തമതിലോലമഘനം,
ശുദ്ധമാമസംബന്ധം,
ഒന്നുമറിയാത്തവൻ പാടും
ശുദ്ധമാം തത്വജ്ഞാനം.
പറുദീസകളണപൊട്ടി വീണുപോയ്,
കൂടെ താരാപഥങ്ങൾ,
കിതക്കും വിശാലപ്പരപ്പുകൾ,
തുളകൾ നിറയും ശിഥിലം നിഴലും,
കൂടെയഗ്നിമഴയുമസ്ത്രങ്ങളും,
ഒത്തിരി സുമങ്ങളും,
പിരിയയയും രാവും,
പിന്നെയിപ്രപഞ്ചവും.
അണുവായി ഞാൻ,
നക്ഷത്രങ്ങൾ നിറയും
ശൂന്യതാ മധുവുണ്ടുന്മത്തനായ്,
അതുപോലതിൻറേതാം ഗൂഢമാം പതിപ്പായി,
അന്തരാളത്തിന്നമലാംശമായ്,
താരങ്ങളെ പുൽകി ഞാനുരുണ്ടേ പോയ്!
കാറ്റിന്‍റെ വിരിപ്പിലെന്നുൾത്തടം സ്വതന്ത്രമായ്!
beautiful poem of a great poet well translated with the feeling of a poet...
I likes the Great Poet Pablo Neruda and a free translation of poem Kavitha I felt it so interesting and the emotions of the poetical mind is fully expressed in good clarity and meaning. I likes this very much.
I haven't read the English version of Pablo Neruda! But this is lovely! Yes, poetry comes uninvited at an unexpected moment! First we feel a stir inside..... later our mind and imagination take flight and we feel floating to lands unknown along with the wind! 'Manoharam'! ! Nair Sir, After reading Marquez in English, I was dismayed and disillusioned that I could not read Spanish. Same feeling about Neruda. If their works feel so good in English (there is a saying that Lost in Translation) , how could we have enjoyed them in the original Spanish! At least 50 % of the poetic/aesthetic beauty is lost in translation. And then, even English is a foreign language for us. Just muses. We should definitely continue our efforts to trans-literate the works of Neruda, Marquez etc. into our language. so that those who are not fortunate enough to learn English have an opportunity to know them. And we, the translators identify more closely with them. Nice work Sir. Pl continue.
