The Marine, he shouted out 'Semper-Fi'!
If we learned one thing it was how to die.
The Sailor prayed to the Saints that be,
For those in peril from the Kam-i-kaz-ee
The Paratrooper knew it was his time to go
When he leaped to his death yelling 'Ger-on-i-mo!
And the Merchant Marine knew he had to go
When the U-Boat fired its tor-ped-o.
The A.F. Pilot and crew never came back
After flying through the AA flak
The Army G.I. stayed on the ground
And an early grave was all he found.
In wars there's many a way to go, if you must
But it ends up the same - Dust to Dust!
