After the first public concert
His Guru once again thought
To have one more concert
For those in the royal Court.
Everyone in the Royal Court
Was invited for the concert.
Guru’s father, a great musician,
Inaugurated this grand function.
As they had to go to court,
It was one hour concert,
But Thyagaraja wasn’t aware
That it was limited to an hour.
In Raga Kambodhi a song
He elaborately did sing
They forgot the time limit
It went on till late night.
They went very late
Next day to the court.
The King heard the reason
And gave them pardon.
.
(The Telugu song was like this:
Mari Mari Ninne Moralida nee
Manasu dhayaradhu)
“To you, again and again,
I am trying to complain,
But no mercy you show,
Nor the reason for it, I know.”
“You’re omnipresent.
At the cry of an elephant
For its help, you ran down.
What’s the reason? ”
“I’ve heard the story,
You went in a hurry
To show your kindness
To Dhuruva, the prince.”
“Why you turned as Narasimha
To save the son of Hiranya?
Why you helped the King
Sukreeva, who forgot everything?
“Oh you, Thygaraja’s God,
Whatever you say, My Lord,
I’v no patience to hear.
Nor I’ll listen to you anymore.”
To Rajagopal Haran, It is Kambhoji as mentioned in the music book with me.
the penultimate para Lord, Tell me about the grandeur of protecting the forest-dwellers who were in hiding the above i think refers to the way Rama adopted to protect Sugreeva and his associates who went into hiding fearing the assault of brother Vali (Rama killed Vali hidding himself ;) my thinking process is that Rama stooped to that level to protect the surrendered person...what a loyalty and love? Rama never bothered about fame; that incident Thyagayya says is a grandeur...what a vision? the surrender and protection process is highlighted well one doubt: is it Kamboji or Charumathi Ragam? well done sir

What an inspiring concert in the royal court. It is not often that a performance is so spell binding that time is forgotten. Very inspiring, Rajaram. Warm regards, Sandra
