182. Numbness Poem by Jaden Knight

182. Numbness

Darling I'm done
I'm in a puddle on the pavement
broken glass is littered around me
my black Samsung laying in my left hand
the screen displaying 4 missed calls

Waiting for the return
my smart clothes are being stained
but still no movement
not even the heavy rain
hamming its tune on my back
will not be able to bring me back this once

Oh what a thrill it was
for you to have driven me so far
so close the edge of no return
maybe I enjoyed the ride
but I won't let you know this time

Know it was fun
but I won
a pity we both were proved that dumb
doesn't matter anymore
it's time to be feeling numb

Until the day when we next meet
be it short or long
I'll tell me this little secret
about me you couldn't be more wrong

COMMENTS OF THE POEM

These are the ironic thoughts of a dead man? And his main squeeze is dead too? Was there a car accident? He apparently is admitting they lived too fast, too dangerously and now life or is it death has dealt them its final message. Hey, you guys, you were supposed to slow down! Now you're just down - forever! Is that the gist of the poem. WOW.
