.2. Numb Thumb - Poem by David Threadgold

A hole in the dyke
Little Dutch boy with thumb
He stuck in the dyke
Till his thumb became numb

His actions were brave
Saving many by gum
Leaving poor little Dutch boy
With a swollen numb thumb
