2016 Jaunt Poem by Dylan B

2016 Jaunt

Indefatigable is your poised+crass swivel
Disarming is your aplomb charm
Comportment? Hah!
Shear your baubles, your fiction!
Shred the nylon, the lycra, the linens

At the aquarium, NYC commuter rail, or,
A trencherman's dinner-date with a view
E'er raised on hips at the alleyway fire escape
We alight above anything dire
Our own fire mimics its gangling grace, Mouths agape to ensnare
Without the slightest care
If passerby crane to see us there

The ephemeral fun, however,
Must end
Burning up and away
Now you are
Sauntering over to the hotel mirror,
Sitting atop the vanity sink,
Cooly perched in cosmopolitan garb,
Applying makeup, not needing one daubed ounce, my dear,
While I unctuously spout my
Keen glee of it all
Taking stock
Confirming your query if you look fit
And sip on rosehips
