246. The Forgotten Poem by Jaden Knight

246. The Forgotten

They sit in their bleak caves
waiting for the light
shivering alone in the dark
and not just from the cold

Too long have the soft rays fallen on them
lighting up their existence
now none will pass through the walls
of their personal prison

To many they are like normal people
going about their daily lives
but if you look a little deeper
you'll see the cave inside

There are the lucky ones around
who manage to escape their caves
now walk happy in radiance
but there of course are those less fortunate
who need to help to be freed

Let us all ambulate happilyunder our suns
and help those who still try to seek theirs
share a little of your light if you can
and you could just help break down some walls
and brighten up someone's day
