259. November 2015 Poem by Jaden Knight

259. November 2015

Beneath a November moon
I have watched you run away
no emotion showing on my face
as I observe your cowardly flight
knowing it is a waste of my time to follow

Who would chase after a liar and a cheat
not I for one
even if they broke my heart in two
it's irrelevant whether I loved you or not
in my mind it would be better
to focus on fixing myself for a while
to repair the damage you caused

Time will be a great healer for me
as even the fragments will reform
in some ways it will be as if you never existed
as I slowly fill in the cracks in my heart

Though you may be in my memory for now
that is the only place you will remain
until the time comes for me to forget
but already I am moving on

Beneath a November moon
I watched you run away
you and I were not meant to be
so in a way I am now free

This is a magnificent poem. That most difficult of all stages...letting go and indulging in one's newfound freedom, and you depict it so well..
