.3. Cheesy Supper Poem by David Threadgold

.3. Cheesy Supper

Maxi mouse wanted cheese for his supper
From his hole in the board he could smell it
There wasn’t a bit in his larder
Outside there was no place that sell it

The smell got so strong it was painful
Outside of his hole sat some cheese
Set up in a trap for young Maxi
While cat fanned the smell just to tease

By now he could stand it no longer
He ran at the cat on his uppers
Who sat on the trap in his panic
Now Maxi has cheese for two suppers
