.3. Giving To Much Poem by David Threadgold

.3. Giving To Much

Our cast iron railings
That made more new planes
Millions of bombs
Made from melting down chains

Who will donate?
All the metal we need
To make tools of war
When our furnaces feed

This was our past
Today we give more
The lives of our youth
On some far distant shore
