When I was a lad
We could play in the road
The traffic was less
Fewer lorry’s with load
The speed of the cars
Were less than today
Giving plenty of time
To get out of the way
Drivers seemed different
In less of a hurry
So we played in the road
Without care or worry

I see we are of a similar age David, and I agree we had more freedom when we were kids, not many of our parents had cars, it was a luxury then, and we went off for hours playing in the roads and just about everywhere, 10 Lynda xx
