'We're going for a drive tonight
I'll pick you up at half eleven'
you breathe down the phone to me
as if you are afraid another would hear
the excitement in your voice evident
matching how I feel inside
Bang on half eleven I see your car pull up beside me
a black Audi A3 with the roof down
your eyes as bright as your smile
as you open the passenger door for me
We drive through the country lanes
not saying a word
enjoying the air streaming over the windshield
your hair streaming behind you
like the tail of a comet
We find a quiet place to park up
to watch the stars together
and beneath the light of the full moon
we share our first passionate kiss
It's almost dawn when we get to my place
I get out and invite you inside
you politely refuse as you have to go to work
and stand watching as you drive away
All day I am excited
waiting for your call to come
to hear your beautiful voice inform me
'we're going for a drive tonight'
