31 - Tuesday Was Their Last Day

Rating: 5.0

Tuesday was their last day
For they never made it to Wednesday
The kisses that they missed
The arguments they left un-resolved
The “I love you” they never got to say
In the moments they realized
That there was no way out
Do you think that they would have stopped
To smell the flowers
Witness the last purple sunset
Breathe in the fresh summer’s air
If they new that Tuesday was their last day
And that they wouldn’t make it to Wednesday

This poem was inspired by the tragic events of 9\11
