The moon is unusually bright tonight
in the cloudless sky
silently watching over the world
but seldom is it appreciated

In my eyes it can be very comforting
to see it shining down
in a life with too many headaches
it brings a moment of peaceful reflection

Its beams sooth many problems
and the stresses of a day
seem to fade away the rays of light
to be forgotten until the dawn

I look out of my window one last time
before I try to sleep
and in the clear sky I notice
the moon is unusually bright tonight
