36 - Southern State 16

Rating: 5.0

Down in the Tennessee valley
In southern state sixteen
The land of the delta blues
And my pretty Memphis queen

A warm southern welcome
Over the Hernando De Soto Bridge
Spell binding beauty from the Snowbird Mountains
To the eastern Blue Ridge

The sweet smell of molasses in the air
Jasper Newton Daniel whiskey
The three star blue crimosn flag
By LeRoy Reeves of the 3rd Regiment, Tennessee Infantry

Lotus bed covering the shallow waters
The eerie beauty of Reel Foot Lake
Stumps and other remains of a once dense forest
Origionally formed by a natural earthquake

The collaberation of two cities
Rock n roll and the blues
The home of the pelvic king
And his famous blue sued shoes

It’s home toThe Country Music Hall of Fame
The Volunteer and the Grand Ole Opry
The purple iris, the mokingbird
And the sweet southern Honeybee
