373. Poem by Jaden Knight

373.

She was often seen hanging around
just in case he would happen to notice her
and give her a compliment or a smile
but he never seemed to spot her
hiding in plain sight
but forced back his sycophantic fake friends

Although she lacked the courage to ask him out
she loved him with all her heart
but he callously broke it with a misplaced comment
he didn't even see her cry as she ran away
all hope and desire extinguished

She gave up on life after that
and used a rope to take it
one quick way to solve her problems
or at least to make them irrelevant

She was found hanging round
a few hours later by the boy who she once loved
he read the note in her right hand not realising
just how much it was opening his eyes
even though it was too late to save her
he cut her down and held her in his arms
'You're beautiful and I'm sorry' he sobbed
and though her spirit had departed
a small smile could be seen on her dead lips
