#383 Clarity Poem by Jimmie Arrington

#383 Clarity

I see the world around me now,
I see only what my eyes allow.
The lines and colors are blurry
As the world spins in a hurry.
I'm tainted and I'm tarnished by
The things I see below the sky.
There's heartache and there's confusion,
There's distress and delusion.
And drowning in a pool of tears,
I see those fighting their own fears.
I long for peace and tranquility,
A sense of worth and honesty.
I yearn for eyes that clearly see
With steadiness and clarity.
In time, perhaps, within the grey,
I'll have the clout and strength to say:

'I see the world around me now,
I see what my heart and thoughts allow.'
