#394 Emotionless Poem by Jimmie Arrington

#394 Emotionless

There was a mist and a fog,
The night was bright and starry;
But that's a misleading prolog,
Flatly, she said she was sorry.

The whole world seemed to halt,
The ambience lost its ring.
Like an open would exposed to salt,
She said she never meant a thing.

Her voice was emotionless,
She didn't blink an eye.
My mouth gaped but nonetheless
She said so long, goodbye.

I wonder what had went wrong,
I had questions needing answering.
I stood silent much too long
Then I said, well, I said nothing.
