4 Fingers And A Thumb Poem by Randy McClave

4 Fingers And A Thumb

Rating: 5.0

God gave me 4 fingers and a thumb
But, not only to hitchhike or point or motion someone to come,
He also gave me the same digits on the other hand
Which I can use to pick someone up, or help them stand.
I will use them also to pray and to help and to create
They will also help me to shape and unfold my own fate,
With them there are a million things that I can do
Especially to write and to paint and to sign, "I love you".
They were also designed for me to grab and to hold
And also for me to shape and to construct and to mold,
I use them with pride and excitement and much vigor
But, they weren't designed for me to pull a gun's trigger.
