5 More Minutes Poem by Randy McClave

5 More Minutes

Did a lover ever die
And then became a blue star in the sky,
All From a tragedy
That only God could know or see.
One moment they are here, then gone
Like the awakening dawn,
If only to spend five more minutes with you
Even in the dew.
Just to hold your hand one more time
I would then write you a beautiful rhyme,
Then we again in the eyes of God would be one
For now and then forever on.
If once again we could only touch
Again you would be my partner, my crutch,
If only once again I could hold you hand
Then I know it wouldn't be as hard to stand.
When the clouds come and cover up the star
Again I will remember the sadness and the scar,
Five more minutes wouldn't be never
But, now the sky is unfolding and is forever.
