.5. Overdue Poem by David Threadgold

.5. Overdue

The biggest excuse
I think I’ve heard most
Is we have your Account
And your cheques in the post

Two more days gone
Wait another two better
No cheque arrives
Not even a letter

Back onto the phone
Will it be any use?
Must I listen once more?
To a feeble excuse

No I will not
Payments well overdue
And the reasons they give
Seem to all be untrue

So I want my stock back
You’ve not paid, I am sorry
And I send my regards
With two men and a lorry
