.5. What A Day Poem by David Threadgold

.5. What A Day

The morning comes on broken wing
A waking bird with song doth sing
A brand new day untouched by all
From largest man to infant small

With all about a mystery yet
No time to form or to forget
This passing time of new beginning
Time has not seen good or sinning

We sit as all awaiting what
If we but knew or cared a jot
A wondering wait of never knowing
Or try to not our feelings showing

Longer than a flight of folly
As winters come to bring us holly
It took a year to reach this stage
A morning’s wait still seems an age

So wait no longer wondering what
Decide yourself what this days got
Alike no other you have seen
From yesterday this grass was green
