.5. What Ails Us Poem by David Threadgold

.5. What Ails Us

Rating: 5.0

Many different potions
Lots of creams to rub
Pills in plastic packets
Ointments in a tub

Many different ailments
New ones every day
Once they’ve been discovered
They never go way

Many different doctors
Try hard to find a cure
Their patients suffer daily
With pains they can’t endure

Many different thoughts
Conflict with those before
Causing more confusion
New pills and take yet more

Many different feelings
Surely all is lost
Do doctors really know what’s wrong?
Or is it down to cost
