50 People - 49 Poem by Raj Dronamraju

50 People - 49

49

Inhabitant of dissolute circumstances
You aren't a necessarily a bum or a hobo
But when was the last time you vacuumed your apartment?

Can't remember which came first
The tragedy or the dissolution
Maybe neither
Maybe what came first was bad parenting
A poor role model, a role model for dissolution

Chimpanzee dreams
The nature you seek is an inverted truth not grasped yet
And that is this nature is not pre-written, it is what you make of it

Pizza boxes long emptied lay like gravestones marking months of inactivity
Only interrupted by feeding the pit
Climbing down into the pit finds the ladder is not long enough to reach the bottom
