580. My Guitar Weeps Softly Tonight Poem by Jaden Knight

580. My Guitar Weeps Softly Tonight

My guitar weeps softly tonight
as my tear soaked fingers caress the strings
each one vibrates like it is racked with sobs
although only the notes can be heard

Am supposed to be singing the song I promised
my mind shouts out the words
but they refuse to come out of my mouth
dying before they reach my lips

My feelings cannot be spoken of
while they are all still alive
haven't the hurt to kill them all
so I'll just let them scream in pain

Maybe I'll await your return
but there is no hope while the sun is down
my tear soaked fingers caress the strings
as my guitar weeps softly tonight
