They say that friendship is all about sacrifice
sometimes you stick the knife in yourself
others times they will do it for you
you don't always notice until too late
when the deed has already been done

No altar is needed for the ritual
the tears are allowed to run freely
just like the blood from a wound
when the blade first pierces the skin

Unfortunately it is a way of life
for many of us who live in these times
sometimes you can see it coming
but more often than not it is in the back

Remember these words
when you first feel the point
it was going to happen sooner or later
as friendship seems to be all about sacrifice
