675. Alon Poem by Jaden Knight

675. Alon

In the spring of his life Alon sprouted
sending out questing roots
his leaves seeking to absorb the light
both of inspiration and knowledge

In the summer of his life he stands tall and proud
ready to face ever increasing winds
he still has a lot of growing to do
while seeking to spread his seeds

In the autumn of his life he is shrunken and bent
no longer as strong as he once was
parts of him have broken and fallen off
his trunk and branches bear the scars of many storms

In the winter of his life he died alone
collapsing in a heap where he once stood
left to be forgotten in a pile of dust
to be blown away by an uncaring breeze
