686. Join Me Thanksgiving Dinner Poem by Jaden Knight

686. Join Me Thanksgiving Dinner

Will you join me for Thanksgiving dinner
just the two of us if need
it doesn't matter what you want to eat
as long as we can share each other's company

I have a nice fat turkey cooking
potatoes and parsnips roasting in the oven
carrots ready to go on the boil
I just hope I have enough for the both of us

The table is set with a red, white and blue cloth
the best silver cutlery by each place mat
comfortable chairs ready by the fire
when you can eat no more

Unfortunately I am a few thousand miles away
but that doesn't change the question
would you do me the honour of joining me
for a special Thanksgiving dinner for the two of us
even if it can only be in spirit
