♦ ♫ ☺ ☼ ♥ The Place Of Ultimate Happiness... ♥ ♦ ♫ ☺ ☼ - Poem by Zoe Martin

This is more like a short story, but oh well. I just got inspired, so I wrote it down. Here goes, enjoy!

The waves crashing on the shore, the harmony of exotic birds, it sounds like a choir, like they’ve rehearsed their songs a million times before. Not one cloud, I look up and see an undisturbed sheet of beautiful blue in twined with a strange, but strong, welcoming feeling. Here, I see sand, not only plain grains of yellow sand, but a sea of golden specks. It lures me in, it makes me feel like lying down and falling asleep, dreaming, an endless dream. But here there is no need to dream, simply because reality here is miles better than any dream. I stand, but feel no weight on my legs, I feel weightless. I take a small step, and my feet sink in an almost graceful way, into the golden sea of sand. I look across the beach and trace the waves back to the sea. I stare out into the endless blue. Its like the sea is programmed to create waves, yet it is capable of much more. Just wave on top of wave, the routine carries on, and on. I think about where the waves came from, anywhere, everywhere? I turn my head, my hair flicks over onto my shoulder, flowing like a waterfall. I watch the trees gently swinging from side to side in the slow breeze that ruffles their leaves. They stand, proud and tall, in front of me. They are not overpowering, but in a way, almost convivial. I walk into this jungle, but the trees are not dense, each tree has about a meters distance until the next tree. There are millions of blue flowers, tiny blue flowers. They are dancing and giggling, smiling broadly at me. I watch them as they elegantly perform their beautiful dance. They curtsy, and so, I curtsied back. A humming bird flew past, flapping its wings smoothly, seemingly effortless. It lands on the branch next to me, and I watch it tuck its wings in and then examine me. Its big eyes set on me, with a friendly kind of look. I start to walk deeper into this jungle, and the humming bird follows me. I pause. He’s hovering, beating his wings faster than I could keep track of them. I walk forward again, and he still follows me. I tread carefully, trying hard not to crush the beautiful blue flowers. The little humming bird swoops down and collects pollen from one of the flowers I watch him as he enjoys this delicacy, then flutters to the next flower. I step forwards, trying hard, once again, not to trample on the flowers, but not hard enough. My foot comes slamming down onto a tiny, innocent flower. But, as I lift my foot, there is the flower, perfectly unharmed. Not even destruction can enter where I am now. But where am I? Where I am now is too heavenly to be anywhere on earth. I have entered an unknown place. The place of ultimate happiness….
