A Beautiful Day Poem by Barry Middleton

A Beautiful Day

Rating: 5.0

a beautiful day
does not take away the ache I feel

I do not speak
of lost love or the agony of grief

I limp and totter
as a sunny breeze stirs the air

I think for a moment
of the miles I used to walk alone

today is different
a heavy burden is my companion

Simply fantastic. How you convey the feeling in so few words is remarkable. We can walk miles alone when we are full of youthful energy but aging n illness are debilitating physically n emotionally. A huge 10.

Simple and basic emotion does not require many words and I am too lazy to write long narrative poetry anymore. Thanks for the praise.
