A Better Eros Somewhere Poem by Julia Luber

A Better Eros Somewhere

There is a better way to do everything; you just haven't discovered it yet.
That being so, it hovers over every action, while a more emotional person-
less struck with ambition and more intent upon a goal, might experience
this same presence as a temptation: some mocking tease informing you
that there is better love elsewhere. For now, I'll choose that sense of there
being a better way of doing things. That alluring tease and sense of there
being something better about Eros somewhere else, it is just too painful
to think about. The efficiency of a cleaner machine is something I can handle.
