A Blank Canvas Poem by Emily Krauss

A Blank Canvas

A blank canvas
As white as ivory soap
Sits in front of me
On my old wooden desk
Beside the canvas
Sits a tattered brown box
Full of watercolor and acrylic paints
Of reds, oranges, purples, blues and all sorts of colors
Also on my desk is a container full of clear water
Just waiting for a paintbrush to be dipped inside
And in my hand is a paintbrush
Just waiting to be
Used on the blank canvas
It waits, and waits
Until inspiration hits me and
And I have an urge to start
Slowly but surely dabbing here and there with my paintbrush
And paints on a once blank canvas
