A Bus To The Star - Poem by Rajesh Thankappan

Did you miss the bus to the star.
That could have taken you very, very far?
Do you still live like an oyster with a precious pearl
Deep in the sea, unseen and unfurled ?

The talent that live in us both latent and nascent
Needs to be nurtured to make it potent,
So why wait, why await for the bus to the star?
Give your talent a chance and it shall take you afar.

All of us have some talents in side us.We should recognize that hidden potentiality and nurture it.That will be our true growth.A very well written poem, thanks for sharing. (Report)Reply

Thanks Rajnish ji and Luis for reviewing the poem and for your valuable words. I wrote this poem keeping in view the fact many a times we fail to recognize their inherent talents in in our children and thus prod them into activities which do not interest them. (Report)Reply

One doesn't has to wait for an auspicious occasion to nurture his abilities or strive for success. It is now and here. I quote the following lines from the poem:
The talent that live in us both latent and nascent
Needs to be nurtured to make it potent,

The word talent here is too broad. A narrowing down would help here.
The first stanza is good, and the end is good, too. I just thought that perhaps you could have been a bit selected in the word and so find one more suitable for the situation. Nothing bad about this, but broad statements in poetry most of the time do not do well.

You did, nevertheless, well here. I liked what you have to say.
    PS.
You now can order my book of poems in kindle. It sells for 2.99$.
Just go to amamzon.com and type my name Luis A. Estable or the name of the book; One Hundred sonnets, book two.
I would like you to pass the word around, and if you would, leave a review after reaiding.

Thanks you much and the best to you and all your writing!
