A Cat With No Patience Poem by Terence George Craddock

A Cat With No Patience

the cat had come in to eat
as I exited at back door
I was outside hanging washing
on the line in early morning

the hanging took 10 to 15 minutes
first load finished second load washing
I opened back door to come back in
the cat sitting on the mat near the door

sudden took a huge swift leap
from sitting map to straight
through doorway to outside

a leap like a cat through burning house window
so strange the house the morning is early quiet
the cat always had an attitude has no patience
