Water Of Life Poem by Terence Craddock

Water Of Life

Rating: 4.7

water flowing
in mountains streams creeks rivers
water trickling
racing to fill ponds lakes oceans

water mist breath allowing
myriad life possibilities
water small droplets sowing
web of life potential diverse forms

without water there would
be no magnificient
earth life lusting swarms

vast planet wide oceans
filling teeming brimming
with species complexities

water vast percentages
of amazing cells
that strata comprise
all living organisms

water sustaining
growth creating
spun life webs
unique ecosystems

food all food
fresh has reserves
of water bound

within water is
our life liquid
requirement most

sustaining nurturing thing

have you not heard
that humans
can go without
food longer

than without
prime life requirement
fresh clean sweet
running water

news flash without
water all life would die
realize without

water we could
not even cry
water an important

part of vibrant
healthy cells
water cool sweet
waits flavours

community wells
water circulates
in myriad plants
to carry distribute

nutrients
water circulates
in people to oxygenate

blood energies
water needed by dependent
earth life cycles

to survive

water
without elixir of life
water earth
will not be alive

THE TRUTH IS SCREAMING WITHIN YOUR PIECE. WATER IS LIFE. And the greatest ARTIST OF EVERYTHING AND EVERY STEWARD IS THE OMNIPOTENT ONE Thanks for sharing this significant piece.

I bask in all of this as I'm a water baby and begin and end my day with much water. As soon as my eyes open I consume a large glass of lemon water, then I make that trip down the hall and fill my tub almost to the brim for my half hour soak in saltz and baking soda. After I dress I have my cup of tea and water all through the day. Yes we would all die without it and for sure I love the luxury of it as well. Loving your poem Terence.....

A beautiful poem but its horrible when we face situations like, water, water everywhere and not a drop to drink'.. Top score for this excellent poem.

Sorry that my clumsy finger did not correctly execute the 5-star vote this poem deserves.

I think a love an appreciation of nature and beauty, the joy found in reading any good literature, are their own rewards. All beauty is a gift not often appreciated enough. Best Regards sincerely Terence.

That should have been a Poem of the Day. Sorry to have missed it. Indeed water is exquisitely tied up with everything life is about, and to have a watery voice is no small accomplishment.

Water continues to be a dominant recurring theme, with probably twenty poems starting with water, a few starting with waves, and many references to water. Pure clean water in nature is inspiring and soul lifting; polluted waste water in landscapes painful to see.

Water is life...and no living organisms can do without it! Wonderful flow to this.

This message needs to circulate around the globe! I love the line " without water we could not even cry." Good writing!
