A Child Again In The Rain Poem by Doris Cornago

A Child Again In The Rain

Rating: 5.0

Rain cleanses the earth, cleanses leaves
Trees towering over grasses, both
Dance gleefully, sight so merry
Distracts me, makes me
Want to be a child
Again, dance
In the rain
So fresh
Face
Wet with
Cool water
Greenery smells
Sweetly, unmindful
Bowing with the weight
Yet my heart aches with the
Burden, drowning with the needling
Pain of being apart in August, seeking
Solace in the deluge, my heart's only refuge

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
Rainy months start from late May and does not cease until late September. This could be dreary months, cooped up inside the house, but if you know how to enjoy the rain, getting wet, like a child, you'll even welcome the rain, literally or figuratively.
