A child born in humble surroundings
Nurtured to manhood with his father’s blessings

God’s love for the world lay in his son the savior
Who would show us the way by his holy behavior

He preached of peace and love and a world united
Speaking not only to a few - for all were invited

Miracles were performed such as raising the dead, -
And giving sight to the blind
He was truly sent to deliver from evil, -all of humankind

Jesus never had a college education, never traveled far
From home
However, today churches are built with him as their
Cornerstone

From his humble beginning - born in a manger, - in a stable
To his horrible death on the cross - for a world so unstable

Whatever religion one might practice and believe in
If a religion teaches love - the Lord resides within

Through the son of God which brought about Christianity
Although he made it clear - he was sent for all of humanity
