A Childhood Game That's Played Throughout The World

A childhood game

It was my favourite marble
That left my knuckle sweet
Across the dusty earth it sped
Its mission, to out compete.

Its colour, made one think
The sky had dropped to earth
Then it smacked into a yellow
And filled the air with mirth.

It sent the yellow spinning
Chased by a cloud of dust
As it left the field of play
Overlaid in wanderlust.

There was nothing left to do
The way to victory was free,
My marble raced to the hole
And I jumped and laughed with glee.
