A Clergy's Wake Poem by BELLO BIDEMI

A Clergy's Wake

Rating: 4.5

To pay homage to Father Flair
Faithfuls gathered from afar and near
It was an ambiance blue as glum
A good Friday in evening of June

A clergy and friend dearly beloved
Even dogs in the hill for his loss had grieved
All his life he had served the Lord
Until his last days he proclaimed the word

The poor he often welcomed with kiss
The rich he told - heaven you mustn't miss
That one of such nature would ever pass
Was hard to take for people of all class

The preacher's sermon was solemn as the hymn
On the last day we shall arise with Him
We were told Christ had made a place above
For the Pure who to all had shown His love

God be with you till we meet again
In paradise of peace with no sorrow or pain
With fullness of joy surely we shall meet
United in harmony at Jesus' feet

'Father Flair' is catchy. I appreciate the rhyming, even the rhymes which don't (for me) 'rhyme'. bri ;)

'In paradise of peace with no sorrow or pain With fullness of joy surely we shall meet United in harmony at Jesus' feet' I don't believe it, but it might be nice. ;)
