A Coin For The Ferryman Poem by Juan Olivarez

A Coin For The Ferryman

A coin for the ferryman,
And your passage is paid.
To that dark nether land,
Where you will be laid.

A coin for the ferryman,
Just drop them in his palm.
On his ferry he stands,
So pale, bony and calm.

A coin for Charon,
He must have recompense.
On the Styx rowing on,
For A copper cent.
