You dash against wall
When there is distress call
Wait for none and respond
Decision fast and in split second

It is state of an alert mind
No waste of time for alternate to find
Dare devil's approach and desirous result
These are inherent and inbuilt

Thousands died for preservance of freedom
The thought for personal safety occurred seldom
It is exceptional feat and performed by an individual
It is unique and can’t be termed as casual

What would have been in heir mind when crisis rose?
Why did they opt for sacrifice or chose?
We can ponder over the issue and search
Exact state of mind prevailed in time as such

There should prevail no confusion in mind
The devotion to duty has made them almost blind
There have no other thoughts then to perform
Some of the qualities are definitely inborn

It is not in anybody’s domain
The concern is always there and may remain
What counts most is exact time and nature?
This ties our identity with future

So when we remember and think of dead
We salute and appreciate them as they lead
It was no less credible step and taken
Any reversal might have left us shaken

Many may argue in favor or against
So many may go for it and insist
This was the only best course open
As the thrust was all of sudden

It is desire to die for the cause
Life may be pushed back stage or paused
This is how soldiers die on front
When they are ordered to confront


Those who survive are called veterans
The torch bearer persons with lanterns
What else they have to offer to us?
Only good example and repositioning of trust

Those who laid down lives are martyrs
We have bade farewell with tears
They are almost their in our heart
They gave us fresh least of life and good start

No second thought must cross the mind and rule
A wise can die and not the fool
It is always an exemplary approach with some promise
Thousands can be saved on his death or demise

Courage has nothing do with age
One lives with it and manages
No one know when time may come to prove
The theory stands good and no one can disapprove

We are proud of their association
It gave us strong and confident nation
we offer only floral tribute
There is still more to contribute
