A Crook Is Not A Cook Poem by Hebert Logerie

A Crook Is Not A Cook

A crook is a criminal, not a cook
A thief, a gambler who knows how to cook
The book of finances, the accounting records.
A swindler knows how to pull the chords
Like a real magician
Like a politician.
Be careful when dealing with one
Because if you are too close
You can be holding the smoking gun
Without realizing it. Powders on your toes
Are enough evidence to send you to jail
For a long time. Be smart. You can fail.
A real scammer knows how to dodge bullets
Lie, steal, swim with sharks, and stuff ballots.
