A Deathly Despair Poem by Jenna Lyn

A Deathly Despair

Still feeling the sting of this broken heart
They say it makes you stronger, when it still remains apart
Maybe it’s rare, made of a cheat chastity glass
Maybe it’s shattered through my prayers did it attack
My world; still capable of being place in a humble jar
Still would remain transparent, but from you, so far
Every time you try to hide your aged, deprived face
I’ll be there to sustain you; forever being your strength
You left me so abandoned, at my weakest point
You turned your back to face the mirror; turned a 360 degree point
You were the only one I loved; only one I let in
The place I put my trust; the one who knew within
I’ve been calling your name, in a mere whisper, far, far too long
You never answered my call; my final heartbeat for you drawn
I dealt through my flaws; dealt with the pain
Attempted suicide, with the life you hadn’t yet let drain
I let go; I surrendered and moved on
Somehow you found out and tried to renew the bond
I can’t save your life; I tried too long ago
As you wave, I turn my head, go down the opposing road
Silence fills the pieces you selfishly had broken
I remain strong; you forsake that, which was spoken
My eyes fill with tears; heart fills with despair
When I understand you’re falling; I have no life left to care
