A Destroyed Masterpiece Poem by Dorsey Baker

A Destroyed Masterpiece

like wild horses
they come
like frighten buffalo
they come
full of anger
full of fear
they come
assault
in massiveness
stampede
coming on foot
hand to hand
combat
life at stake
brave and fallen
heroes
a family fall
their tears
so many pieces of a heart
left behind
in the ruin
they might trample you
that powerful ocean surges
swim to shore
