You Come And Then You Go - Poem by Dorsey Baker

When you arrive
you let me know
that you are alive
You come and then
You go
at the table of desire
we get pleasure
and we get pain
and sometimes
our tears
they fall
just like the rain
You come and
then you go
the sun
is going down
its light
is fading
slowly in the sky
You come and then
You go
just like a whisper
in the night
You come and then
You go

Great poem. Relationships have their ups and downs. One looks backs fondly on all the memories with certain sweetness and the sting of a thorn. Congratulations for member poem place. (Report)Reply

Loved the poem which sounds simple, but highly emotional! Touches the right cord in our heart!
The lines which are memorable to me -
" at the table of desire
    we get pleasure
    and we get pain
    and sometimes
    our tears
    they fall
    just like the rain"
    What a beautiful rhythmic flow!

It falls down to lack of respect from loved ones.
    Who needs this?
    Happy Festive season.

The poem in a way defines a situation where human relationships are being undermined. There is a sense of casualness or lack of commitment. This is the reality of our time. Thanks & Congrats, Dorsey Baker. (Report)Reply

    You come and then
    You go
    at the table of desire
    we get pleasure
and we get pain/// beautiful writings
yeah love comes and goes, love brings happiness, pleasure when it comes with smiling but when it goes with tears then we get pain and hurt inside heart as well as at the table of desire/// beautiful poetic expression
