A Dream Poem by Ehsan Ehsan

A Dream

A DREAM
Last night when all my day's fatigue
Had accumulated in my body
And a heavy slumber caught my soul
I was unable to do but to loosen myself
And be forgetful of myself and others
I do not know who it was but an unknown power
Appeared to draw me what I did not expect at all
A maid with meek brown eyes
Sitting silently beside me on the bed
I felt as if I had awakened
I opened my eyes to go into a trance again
She changed into a shadow in the evening
I kept on looking and looking at her
Her locks outshined the sun itself
And her golden tresses were waving
As if some village rivulet was running
She kept on sitting there reluctant to move
My old age went back to its passionate youth
And my aged soul was in high romance
I began to look at her with sacred glance
By very bold within my heart that
I was going to avail a golden chance
Suddenly my eyes opened and saw
The grey light of morning busy in dance
The maid with meek brown eyes was not there
But I was now fresh and ready for my work again!
