A Florida Lizard - Poem by James McLain

is it not exotic
what I'm
writing
here to you

That when
and
if you stop it

I will
have to say
it's blue

And
if they hear
you cry

I
will have
to say
it's true

And
they may
never
let me

Write to
you again

But
if I let you
stay

And you
are looking
out
my window

Can you see
that
lizard over there

On that tree
and what
it's
doing?
