A Fool Amidst The Living Lot - Poem by Kalyani Rajalingham (Married to Dr. Kane)

A FOOL AMIDST THE LIVING LOT
By Kalyani Rajalingham

The Fools:

Ah! They feast and they sing the serpent's song

And mend blessings into tortures for one and all

For their heart is brave but their mind is weak

That bends like the grass at another's mild critique

The Others:

The Grandest mass of the living lot

They presume their grandeur without much doubt or thought

They begin the madness; they are where it shall all cease

When in time comes the deadly death of peace
